Core Parameters

  • Size – DN25-500 mm (can be customized).

    Pressure rating : SDR11-PN16 bar, SDR13.6-PN12.5 bar, SDR17-PN10 bar, SDR21-PN6 bar, SDR26-PN6 bar.

    Raw materials:PE80 or PE100 materials.

Supply capacity: 3 × 40 feet per week container.

    Certificate:ISO 14001, ISO 9001, OHSAS 18001, CE BS EN 12001 certification.

The elbow contains embedded resistance heating coils. When connected to a compatible electrofusion control unit, the coils generate heat and fuse the fitting socket with the outer surface of the HDPE pipe. After the required cooling period, the connection forms a durable, leak-tight and corrosion-resistant joint.

Manufactured from high-quality PE80 or PE100 material, our electrofusion 45° elbows are available in multiple diameters, SDR ratings and customized configurations. Custom colours, barcode labels, packaging and OEM branding are available on request.

  • An HDPE electrofusion 45° elbow is a socket-type fitting used to connect two HDPE pipes at a 45-degree angle. It is suitable for projects where the pipeline route needs a gradual change in direction, including buried water networks, gas pipelines, irrigation systems and industrial pipe installations.

During the electrofusion process, the pipe ends are prepared, scraped, cleaned and inserted into the elbow sockets to the specified insertion depth. A compatible electrofusion control unit supplies the required fusion energy through the fitting terminals. The embedded heating coils melt the contacting PE surfaces, allowing the pipe and fitting materials to fuse together during the heating and cooling cycle.

The finished joint provides a smooth internal flow path, without threaded joints or mechanical seals within the fusion zone.

Installation Guidelines

  • Installation should be carried out by trained personnel using compatible electrofusion equipment.

    1. 1. Cut the pipe ends square and remove burrs.
    2. 2. Mark the required insertion depth on both pipe ends.
    3. 3. Scrape the pipe oxidation layer across the full fusion area using a suitable scraper.
    4. 4. Clean and dry the prepared pipe surface using approved cleaning materials.
    5. 5. Insert both pipe ends fully into the 45° elbow sockets.
    6. 6. Fit alignment clamps to prevent movement during fusion and cooling.
    7. 7. Connect the fitting terminals to a compatible electrofusion control unit.
    8. 8. Scan the fusion barcode or enter the parameters specified on the fitting.
    9. 9. Do not move, load or pressure-test the joint before the specified cooling time has elapsed.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an HDPE electrofusion 45° elbow used for?

It is used to change the direction of an HDPE pipeline by 45 degrees while maintaining a secure electrofusion connection.

Can this elbow be used for gas pipelines?

Yes, provided the selected fitting meets the project’s applicable gas standard, material grade, SDR and operating-pressure requirement.

What equipment is required for installation?

A suitable electrofusion control unit, pipe cutter, scraper, cleaning materials and alignment clamps are required.

What is the difference between a 45° elbow and a 90° elbow?

A 45° elbow creates a gentler pipeline direction change, while a 90° elbow creates a right-angle turn.

Can you provide customized products?

Yes. Please provide the required diameter, SDR, working pressure, application, standard, quantity and destination port.
