    The fitting contains embedded resistance heating coils in each fusion zone. When connected to a compatible electrofusion control unit, the coils generate heat and fuse the inner surface of the fitting with the outer surface of the HDPE pipes. After the specified cooling time, the joint forms a durable, leak-tight and corrosion-resistant connection.

  • An HDPE Electrofusion Equal Tee is a three-way pipe fitting with three outlets of the same nominal diameter. It is used to create a T-junction between three HDPE pipes, allowing a pipeline to branch at 90 degrees without changing pipe diameter.


    Equal tees are commonly used in municipal water networks, irrigation systems, gas distribution lines, industrial pipe installations and underground utility projects. They provide a compact alternative to assembling multiple fittings and help reduce the total number of pipeline joints.


    During installation, each pipe end is prepared by cutting, scraping and cleaning the fusion zone. The pipes are inserted into the tee sockets and secured with alignment clamps. The electrofusion control unit then supplies the required fusion energy through the fitting terminals. After heating and cooling, the pipe and fitting materials form a homogeneous fusion joint.

Installation Guidelines

 

  • Installation should be performed by trained personnel using compatible electrofusion equipment.

    1. 1. Confirm that the tee size, pipe SDR and pressure requirement are correct.
    2. 2. Cut all three pipe ends square and remove burrs.
    3. 3. Mark the required insertion depth on each pipe.
    4. 4. Scrape the oxidation layer from the complete fusion area using a suitable scraper.
    5. 5. Clean and dry the prepared pipe surfaces using approved cleaning materials.
    6. 6. Insert all three pipes fully into the tee sockets.
    7. 7. Secure the assembly using suitable alignment clamps.
    8. 8. Connect the fitting terminals to the electrofusion control unit.
    9. 9. Scan the fitting barcode or enter the specified fusion parameters.
    10. 10 Do not move, load or pressure-test the connection until the required cooling time has elapsed.
